It was inevitable that Nicole Scherzinger, the 29-year-old frontwoman for multiplatinum pop sextet the Pussycat Dolls, would make a solo album. After all, the midriff-flaunting, pan-ethnic beauty is the only Doll that anyone not counting PCD’s parents and fan club could pick out of a lineup. Scherzinger’s Her Name Is Nicole, out in October, features collaborations with T.I., will.i.am and Akon. On the off-chance it isn’t a smash, a second Pussycat Dolls album is already in the works.
