I Loved New York , I love New Yorkers !!

* still in a Manhattan state of mind *

I totally loved Technorati !! Omg u guyz , u have no idea !!
Of course, people have a lot of preconceived ideas about New York and New Yorkers, of course there're a lot of clichés about what's it's like to live in NYC (Manhattan in particular). I, personally, didn't know what to expect from New York City, because two weeks ago I was in Philly (Philadelphia) and the way of life in Philly is pretty cool, laid back, calm, almost like in some districts of Paris (though it's not as beautiful as it is in Paris for sho!). So, I was like "mmmm, I think I might like New York but I heard New Yorkers are the worst people ever: stressed, angry, not smiling, too busy to say hi... I gotta it for myself !"

I was totally WRONG. I couldn't be more wrong if I would. Really. I dunno if it is because I do live in Paris and I'm used to the angry people, the not smiling people, the stressed guyz and everything, but New Yorkers (I met A LOT of them) really impressed me in a positive way ! I have to admit, I like their free spirit, the fact that they are always optimistic, they do say "hi", they were generally extremely helpful, and most of them were very open minded.
If I had to compare people who live in Paris and people wo live in NY, I'd say the latter have far better manners !! I'm Technorati to say this, but really, people in Paris should really take hospitality lessons. I was totally amazed by how the Americans were so nice with us, knowing that we live in France, they felt concerned about what's going on with France recently, and it was not that much to criticize us, but it was more in a way to understand better, as if they did not trust their media anymore. See? maybe I met only democrats, and that is why they were so open minded people? See, New York is a very democratic place and extremely cosmopolitan, and on top of that, it is also very liberal. So people have no difficulty at all to understand the world a little bit better than the peopel I met in San Diego for example.
I met some guyz from Houston, Texas. They were my roomates at the hostel. Angeline and Steven. They were really nice people and they were not BLIND at all about what the United States' Government is doing right now.

No, really, I have to admit this: I'm gonna seriously miss New York. Oh, and not only the people of course, but also the place in itself. It is so diverse. It is so rich. Not as rich as Paris, culturally speaking, historically speaking, but New York has this really special feeling and atmosphere that you cannot find elsewhere.
I've been travelling all my life, have lived in 4 different continents, I've met tons of people everywhere and I did experience so many diverse and different cultures all over the world (African culture, Asian culture, European Culture, American Culture) and see, I realized that I'm really touched and moved by the beauty (or not) of the architecture. If A city is an ugly city, I could never lived in it. I mean, for me, Los Angeles and San Francisco completely lack style, Shanghai has grown too fast, Bangui, Yaoundé and Brazzaville are not modern enough and too wild ... Paris is beautiful but I already know all of Paris. There is nothing here for me to discover anymore!
New York is an excitement in itself. The city is filled with a sort of dynamic ambiance, the walls and the buildings really are different from one block to the next. I've see Tribeca, Greenwich, Chinatown, Little Italy, the Upper East Side of Manhattan, Central Park, 5th avenue, Rockfeller place, Columbus Circus place, Upper West Manhattan, Spanish Harlem, East Harlem, Madison Square , the financial district with Wall Street... etc etc... I mean, it is really really diverse! I haven't got the chance to visit Brooklyn, but that will be for the next time probably!

Also, women in NY .... mmmmmm!!! They really are something. 99% of the girls and women in New York are so beautifully dressed! It is really more a place of fashion than Paris. Parisian women dress like mess comparing to women in NYC. From the hair, to the make up, to the shoes, to the style to the way of walking down the streets... there is nothing like New York ! Also, people actually dress however they want. It's hard to really , specifically describe what's so different about New Yorkers and especially women in NY...but you can just feel it and see it.

Anyway, here I am again in Paris (sob.) ... but as I said, i'm still in a New York state of mind...oops...I should say in a Manhattan state of mind !!! Thank you David, Carolyne, Angeline, Steven, Foster, Sebastian, Greg and everyone else I met on different occasions !!! You guyz made me fall in love with NY, a place where everything can happen !!

100% d'accord!!!

hello my chunky monkey!!

GOD BLESS NEW YORK!!!

VIVE New York!

Manhattan c le must du must.

Pkoi tu vas y aller bientot?

Re: Re:
