Michael Jackson

was a huge success back in the early 90's with his album "Dangerous" (though in my opinion, that album - the first one without Quincy Jones - clearly marked the fall of a "King", especially if you compare "Dangerous" with absolutely fantastic albums of the likes of "Thriller" or "Bad" or even "Off The Wall", all three produced by Quincy Jones).
Unfortunately, his album "HisTory" was a failure in terms of success of the singles (on the Billboard charts) and the only song that really really worked on the charts of the world was the song "Scream" in which he was supported by his little sister Janet Jackson who danced so much better than him in the video.
Nevertheless, there he is, invited at the 1995 MTV Video Music Awards dancing on a medley of songs including samples of his sister Janet.

This was actually a great performance because Michael borrowed Tina Landon, janet's long-time friend and choreographer, in order to choreograph his medley. This was actually one of the best performances by Michael Jackson. But you'll see more of Janet jackson in the future, and if you have notions of choreography and if you do actually know how to dance, you will probably and clearly understand Janet's superiority in the dance area. That actually is a fact known by very few. Michael in fact always does the same steps using his shoulders, touching his crotch, I mean, a lot of his videos portrayed the same choreography like "jam", "in the closet", "black or white" (ending) etc. On the other hand, Janet has always changed her way of dancing, she was the first to be "nasty" (before Michael even was "bad"), she was the first to use famous photographer Herb Ritts to film her video "Love will never do without you" (before Michael did "In The Closet") , she was the first to use rapper "heavy D" in her "Alright" video before Michael worked with him on "Jam" etc etc. Janet is fierce!! And I will definitely put a lot of multimedia from her performances and her videos.

PS: Usher and Justin Timberlake can always try to become the new Michael Jackson, but they cannot !!!!

t´as raison dans tout ce q tu dis, janet est beaucoup plus imaginative q son frere dans son travail mais meme si michael repete toujours les memes mouvements, on ne se fatigue jamais de le voir danser et il a toujours une bonne performance. Voir le video remember the time sur youtube oú meme assis sur une chaise (car il s´etait blessé a la anche?) il ne perd pas son eclat. :-) je pense q les ragots et histoire d pedofilie on prejudiqué l´inspiration artistique d michael car au fond d kui meme c un génie et il sera toujours une legende malgres tout.

Exactement Ally. Je suis d'accord, Michael est très doué mais il a tendance à toujours se reposer sur ses lauriers et abuse trop des mêmes pas qu'on lui connaît (se touche les parties, déhanchement des épaules gauche droite, écartement des jambes pliées en équerre, jeu de petits pas cliticlop cliticlop, jeu avec le chapeau etc..)... Quelque part, répéter toujours la même chose depuis 1980 à aujourd'hui , càd pendant 20 ans de suite, ca lasse et surtout ca DATE! Beaucoup de ses mouvements sont HAS BEEN et pas assez "modernes".
Janet a constamment rénové sa façon de danser, dans RUNAWAY elle emprunte des pas de danse Thaï, dans Doesn't Really Matter, elle joue avec la gravité superbement, dans All Nite (Don't Stop) la chorégraphie est probablement une des plus difficile que j'ai jamais vue niveau réalisation des mouvements et des pas (jeu de pieds, balance d'équilibre, contorsionnement du bassin etc...) et je pourrais parler comme ça pendant longtemps, chacun de ses vidéos est un véritable hommage à la danse par ex I GET LONELY : quelle classe, quelle superbe!!!! D'ailleurs je vais probablement poster sa performance live de I Get Lonely aux Soul Train Awards, c'était " TO DIE FOR " comme on dit !!!

Ehehe! je note ta passion sur tout ce que tu ecris, j´ai eu l´ impression que mon moniteur vibrait LOL tu as raison, je n´ai pas eu l´occasion de voir tout les clips de janet, mais de toute façon je reste une fan de michael autant que de janet...j´ espere que tu postera bientot ça pour que je puisse admirér. Merci :-)
